🎃 Halloween Jumping Clinic
We kicked off November in style with a post-Halloween jumping clinic. Riders and horses alike came dressed in fantastic costumes, making the day as festive as it was educational. Everyone brought great energy, creativity, and impressive riding. A big thank you to all who participated! Hosting in-house clinics year-round at Unicorn is one of the many fun activities our leasers and boarders can get up to!
🐴 Jane Stone Clinic
We were thrilled to welcome Jane Stone back to the barn for a multi-disciplinary clinic. It’s always a treat having Jane teach. Her knowledge of equitation science and her ability to convey clear, valuable instruction make for an enriching experience every time. Jane always compliments our horses and how well-behaved they are in a variety of disciplines with our training program.
The weekend featured dressage, jumping, and working equitation, offering something for everyone and fostering tons of learning and fun. Our coaches also participated in some lessons. We are so proud of our coaches for always continuing their education, which they can then apply to their teaching of our riders!
📅 Holiday One-Day Camp — December 29th
Don’t forget! Our Holiday One-Day Camp is coming up on December 29th.
Sign your child up for a fun-filled day with our Unicorns: riding, grooming, stable management lessons, and crafts! This camp will feature some fun holiday accents as well. 🎉
Here is what one of our many returning camp clients has to say about their experience at Unicorn Stables:
My son loves this place. The activities are fun, and the coaches are super friendly. He has learned so much attending the summer camps here and is very comfortable handling horses. I can’t say enough good things about this stable - just that it is 5-star!
As well as our one-day camp on December 29th, we have announced camp dates for February, Spring, and Summer 2026. Check out available dates on the website.
If you’re interested in signing your child up for our camps, don’t delay! Email the office or fill out our contact form as soon as possible to secure their spot.
🎄 Staff Christmas Dinner
To celebrate our team that works so hard to keep our horses and riders happy, we enjoyed an early Christmas dinner at The Vault restaurant in Cloverdale. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up and enjoying each other’s company outside the barn. Delicious food, great conversations, and plenty of laughter made it a night to remember.

✨ Ornament Decorating & Open House
On the last weekend of November, we hosted a cozy ornament-decorating day, adding personal touches to decorations for our barn Christmas tree. Afterward, everyone headed to Coach Tammie’s open house, where the festive atmosphere continued. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun! It was so great seeing everyone work together on their ornaments and really get together as a community.
🐎 School Horse of the Month — Baloo
We are excited to launch a new monthly feature: School Horse of the Month!
To kick things off, we are highlighting the one and only Baloo.
Baloo has been part of Unicorn Stables since he was just a young guy and nearly all black in colour, trained by Coach Tammie and successfully competed by her up the levels of eventing. Now a beloved member of our lesson program, Baloo is a rider favourite: steady, fun, and full of personality. He could be the one for you if you’d like to ride with us in our weekly lessons!
He may have a few years under his girth and now fully greyed-out, but he still keeps everyone on their toes and proves that age is just a number. He especially loves having fun out on cross-country!
Here is what one of his current riders, Lori, has to say about her experience leasing Baloo at Unicorn:
I started riding Baloo in early 2017, he was just joining the lesson string after some rehab. Knowing how special Baloo is to Coach Tammie, I’ve always felt very lucky to be one of his early leasers. He has been an amazing partner all these years! I enjoy every minute I get to spend with him... even all the time in the wash stall trying to keep him clean 🦄 ❤️
Thank you for reading our Unicorn Stables update. For questions about lessons, leasing, or other riding programs, please contact the office. We look forward to sharing more with you next time!
