š“ Dental Day Success
We were pleased to welcome Horizon Vet Clinic to the barn for our annual dental floats with Dr. Steve Chiasson.
We successfully completed dental work on 17 horses, and Dr. Steve was very happy with the condition of all their teeth; no issues at all! Regular dental care plays such an important role in our horsesā overall health, comfort, and performance, and we are incredibly grateful to have such excellent veterinary care supporting our program.
Healthy horses are happy horses! š
š Welcome Halo & Spector!
We are thrilled to officially welcome Halo and Spector to the Unicorn family! These two new additions have settled in beautifully and have been doing great so far.
Weāre very excited about what they will bring to our program and canāt wait for everyone to get to know them better. Be sure to say hello next time youāre at the barn!

š Jane Stone Clinic Recap
We are always so lucky to have Jane Stone come out to share her wealth of knowledge with us across a variety of disciplines.
During this clinic, riders had the opportunity to work on:
Dressage
Jumping
Working Equitation
Jane is fantastic at working with all riding levels and helping each rider gain a better understanding of equitation scienceābased training. Her clear explanations and thoughtful exercises help both horses and riders develop stronger communication, balance, and confidence.
We are so grateful for her continued support and expertise!
š Valentineās Jumping Clinic
Our Valentineās Jumping Clinic was a wonderful success! Riders have made big improvements since the previous clinic, and itās been so rewarding to see everyone growing in confidence and truly enjoying their horses.
Exposure to different shapes and colours of jumps is so important for building horse and rider confidence. Experiences like these help our horses become braver, more adaptable partners ā and itās amazing to watch that progress unfold.
š Congratulations, Coach Emma!
Huge congratulations to Coach Emma for passing her Class 3 written test! She can now begin practicing driving the big rigs in preparation for her road test.
Weāre so proud of her dedication and hard work ā way to go, Coach Emma! š
š February 20 One-Day Camp
Our February 20th One-Day Camp was packed with fun! Campers enjoyed:
Riding time
Creative crafts
Learning about horse care
In the afternoon, they participated in in-hand lessons and had a blast playing the ever-popular āBlindfold Guess the Horseā game. It was a fantastic day filled with laughter, learning, and pony time.
š School Horse of the Month ā Mr. Bean
Our February School Horse of the Month is Mr. Bean!
Bean has been with Unicorn for many years and continues to be full of personality. He keeps everyone laughing daily and always brings something special to the barn.
Even though heās getting up there in age, you certainly wouldnāt know it! Heās still happily competing at low-level competitions, and his love for cross-country continues to shine through.
Thank you, Bean, for all the smiles, lessons, and memories youāve given us over the years. š
Here is what one of his leasers, Madeleine, has to share about her time with Mr. Bean:
āBean has taught me a lot about how hard this sport is and how much effort it takes to be successful. But he has also showed me how fun it can be with just the little things. For example a little grooming time or having some fun with treats or even just the times where Iāve sat with him while he grazed and just listened to the quiet and his very aggressive munching. He has taught me how to be very patient and to trust the process and that success doesnāt come without a lot of time and preparation. He has taught me to be prepared for any bumps in the road but to also remember that there is light on the other side.ā
š Happy Birthday, Reggie!
On February 20th, Reggie turned 3! Wow, time has really flown by! Reggie is always keeping us laughing with his amazing sense of humour. Hereās to another year of fun with you, Reggie!
As we look ahead to March, weāre excited for warmer days, busy programs, and more time in the saddle. Thank you to our incredible riders, families, and supporters for being part of the Unicorn Stables community.
